A startling and award-winning example of modern architecture designed by Harrison and Abramovitz, the unique Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC) building slopes against an upper-campus hillside at a 45-degree angle. LRDC leads the country in education and psychological research, and its scholars have contributed substantially to knowledge about human cognition, learning, and effective schooling and training. Focusing on interdisciplinary research, LRDC includes education scholars, cognitive scientists, computer scientists, developmental and social psychologists, psycholinguists, evaluation and measurement specialists, organizational behavior researchers, and education policy analysts.
