My Nature Outing provides middle school participants an ingress into environmental education and computer science. Over the course of a single day, participants take a nature walk, gather data, and use basic HTML and CSS coding to communicate and circulate their findings. As a result, participants learn methods for communicating science while developing digital literacies.
