About this Event
Writing is power. Yet for those who have experienced the pain, suffering, and trauma of inequality that comes with abuses of power, the act of writing can be excruciating. And yet, writing may be more possible than speaking. What feels impossible to speak may be accessed and expressed through writing. In this interactive workshop, Grace Talusan will share some of her methods and processes in writing her memoir, The Body Papers, and other recently published essays, and lead participants through a short, low-stakes writing exercise (with no pressure to share your writing) to find access points and tunnel into what seems impossible to speak.
