Abstract: In this work-in-progress presentation, I discuss how entanglement, a concept developed in ecological fungi studies, can guide efforts to research and theorize the ephemeral, mobile, and indeterminate aspects of multilingual writing. I draw on ethnographic data to illustrate the theoretical and methodological facility of entanglement in observing multilingual writing as becoming with natural, cultural, and literate others, sustained by thickets of relationships, energized by unpredictable encounters across differences, and unfolding through dynamic spatial and temporal contours.
