This session will cover a wide range of publishing topics to help you select a journal to publish your article. Common factors that influence how authors select journals will be discussed, including the reputation and relevance of a journal, publication models, author rights, and other publishing preferences and requirements. Time will also be spent on how to evaluate journals based on best publication practices and ethical standards. Learn how to efficiently keep track of all this information to compare your publishing options in one spot.

Anyone who publishes, or has an interest in publishing, is welcome to attend.

Upon completing this class, you should be able to:

  • Outline the process for publishing an article.
  • Describe factors that influence where to submit your work.
  • Assess the quality of a journal based on adherence to best practices and editorial standards in publishing.

Class materials will be made available to class registrants. This class will not be recorded.
