About this Event
The export control regulations apply restrictions in different ways, some of which will stop an otherwise innocuous export in its tracks. The Office of Trade Compliance (OTC) will describe the importance of recognizing catch-all controls found through U.S. restricted party lists, sanctions & embargoes, proliferation activities, military end uses/users, anti-boycott, and red flags. OTC will also explain how Pitt has processes in place to identify and manage catch-all controls.
This session is the next installment in OTC's 12-part, monthly training series to address "Export Control Fundamentals" in the academic environment. Each session will last no more than 30 minutes, with time at the end for questions. Sessions will be recorded and made available to members of the Pitt community. Although the content is appropriate for a general academic audience, most sessions will include direct application for the research community.
