Karin Muraszko, MD, professor and chair emeritus at the University of Michigan Department of Neurosurgery, provides the honored guest lecture for the Second Annual Dorothy Klenke Nash Lectureship.
Specializing in pediatric neurosurgery, Dr. Muraszko was the first woman to chair an academic neurosurgery department in the United States, heading the University of Michigan’s Department of Neurosurgery from 2005 to 2022. In addition to her extensive expertise in pediatric neurosurgical care, Dr. Muraszko’s research background includes work with immunotoxin therapy for brain tumors, the biology of brain tumors, Chiari malformations, craniofacial anomalies and congenital anomalies of the brain and spine and hydrocephalus
