One favorite way to do so is through embroidering well-loved pieces of clothing, transforming textiles that would have otherwise gone into the landfill into individualized, stylish new pieces.
At this session, Thriftsburghers will teach you some basic stitches that go a long way, giving you the tools you need to launch your creativity with your very own embroidery design.
As the seasons change, Thriftsburgh is following the swing of spring: we'll provide limited t-shirts, some pastel fabrics, embroidery floss, tools, and floral stencils. All you need to bring is a piece of clothing/textile you think needs an upgrade and your own creative ideas. No prior needlework experience required!
Facilitated by Thriftsburgh
Free and open to all members of the University of Pittsburgh community: students, faculty, and staff.
