This workshop, facilitated by Dr. Jesse Jack (she/they), discusses trans-affirming pedagogy, creating space for university-wide faculty to consider ways to design trans-affirming syllabi and materials. The workshop specifically seeks to address these two considerations:

  • How can we create classrooms to be affirming spaces for our trans and gender non-conforming students?
  • How can our instructional tools (syllabi, course content, etc.) show our investment in trans-affirming pedagogy?

This workshop may be counted toward the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Concentration concentration of the Achievement in Pedagogy badge, offered through the Graduate Student Teaching Initiative. For more information, visit the Achievement in Pedagogy Badge or contact tahelp@pitt.edu.
