Top Hat: Beyond Classroom Polling

This is a past event.

For instructors already familiar with Top Hat's most commonly used student polling features, we will explore Top Hat's other features. Using Top Hat, instructors can assign homework or provide materials for review, adopt a low cost or free e-textbook, give secure tests, or author their own interactive content. Top Hat's student engagement software is now available for all faculty and students at Pitt at no cost.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Create basic homework and review assignments in Top Hat
  • Create interactive readings and texts
  • Create and give secure in-class tests
  • Adopt questions packs and textbooks from the Top Hat Marketplace
  • Import students, export grades, and manage groups

Registration for workshops is mandatory which ensures distribution of pre-workshop materials and maintain accurate attendance records.

If you have any special accommodation needs, please contact teaching@pitt.edu.

Tuesday, October 1 at 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
