The Long and Winding Road: Nonlinear Paths to the Health Professions

This is a past event.

In the healthcare field, there are many roads that lead to a sense of professional accomplishment and satisfaction. How one gets to where they are going in the pursuit of their career and the time needed to get there will vary depending on personal and family circumstances. However, those vested in their education will arrive successfully.

In this program, students will have the opportunity to learn the stories of professional students in the School of Medicine and the School of Rehabilitation Science Physician Assistant Studies program who have taken a non-traditional path to achieving their educational goals. Best practices will be shared and informational resources will be provided to help transition the student from their pre-health track to a professional studies program.

This event is part of a series of workshops conducted during Nontraditional Student Week: November 1-5. This week-long series is designed to celebrate and support the academic achievement of nontraditional students.
