"An Introspective Argument for Others’ Minds"
This talk concerns what role forms of social self-consciousness might play in formulating a response to a traditional philosophical problem about how we know others’ minds. I try to offer an introspective argument for other minds, and suggest that it may have resources other arguments lack in tackling the problem, and in particular, in ameliorating the effects of a kind of illusion about our knowledge of ourselves and others that gives rise the problem in the first place.
