The Past, Present, and Future of Immigrant Access to Health Care in the United States presented by Medha Devanagondi Makhlouf Professor of Law and Director, Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic, Penn State Dickinson Law

 

Medha D. Makhlouf is a Professor of Law and Director of the Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic at Penn State Dickinson Law, with a courtesy appointment in Public Health Sciences. Her work explores how immigration status shapes access to health care, and her scholarship has appeared in leading law and health policy journals. She supervises students representing immigrants with health-harming legal needs and was named a 2020 Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity. Professor Makhlouf holds degrees from Brown University and Yale Law School, and joined the Dickinson Law faculty in 2015.

 

The Nordenberg Lecture in Law, Medicine & Psychiatry was created by a gift from the late Thomas Detre, MD, former Senior Vice Chancellor for the Health Sciences. That gift has been augmented by gifts from BNY Mellon Financial Corp; Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, PC: the late Edwin Klett, Esq., Mark and Nikki Nordenberg, and Loren H. and Ellen Roth.
