Teaching International Student Writers

Understand and learn how to support international students in writing-intensive courses. Participants in this workshop will emerge with enhanced ability to serve international students as they work to write themselves into the world of university discourse.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Comment helpfully on grammatically formative drafts of student writing for revision.
  • Recognize and transparently disclose their expectations about the conventions underlying their writing assignments.
  • Evaluate the content of multilingual writing using an asset model rather than a deficit model.

Thursday, April 1 at 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
