When effectively planned and thoughtfully designed, PowerPoint presentations can significantly elevate the quality and efficacy of teaching and learning experiences. This workshop will explore the best practices for creating instructional slides that foster student engagement with course content.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Use best practices to increase interactivity and engagement between students and between students and instructors.
  • Identify and avoid common drawbacks of using PowerPoint
  • Design and present an effective PowerPoint presentation

This workshop may be counted toward the Educational Technology concentration of the Achievement in Pedagogy badge, offered through the Graduate Student Teaching Initiative.
