About this Event
Best Practices for Teaching International Students: Many faculty teach their courses for all students, but there are some challenges faced by international students in that environment. Faculty might reference different common phrases like "follow the breadcrumbs" or quote a popular movie to make a point that requires knowledge international students don't have. American faculty also have different expectations than in international institutions, whether it is when it is acceptable to use AI, academic integrity policies, or writing style. We review practices that faculty have found helpful in clarifying material and expectations for international students.
This session is part of the Intercultural Competency Program and is offered through the Faculty Staff Development Program..
