Come join us on October 25, 2019 for this Meet the PI lecture highlighting the findings of Translational Neuroscience Program investigator Mary Torregrossa, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Dr. Torregrossa received her PhD in neuroscience from the University of Michigan in 2005. She went on to do post-doctoral work in addiction neuroscience in the lab of Dr. Peter Kalivas at the Medical University of South Carolina and with Dr. Jane Taylor at Yale University. Dr. Torregrossa went on to obtain a research faculty position at Yale where she obtained a K01 and then moved to the University of Pittsburgh in 2012 to start her independent lab in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Torregrossa was promoted to Associate Professor in the department in 2018 and continues her work investigating the causes and consequences of substance use in animal models, with a particular interest in targeting learning and memory systems to develop novel treatments.
