DESCRIPTION:Provost's Diversity Institute for Faculty Development\n\nIn thi
s session\, Dr. Rua M. Williams will guide attendees in exploring standard
classroom practices that enforce ableist ideals and cause harm to student
s and teachers alike. Many pedagogical interventions in systemic bias assu

ll support faculty attendees in exploring their struggles as opportunities
for pedagogical transformation. Attendees will workshop neurodivergent-af

s they support the student.\n\nGuest Facilitator: Rua Mae Williams\, Assis
 tant Professor\, Purdue University\, Computer Graphics Technology\n\nRegis
tration for this session is open to full- and part-time faculty affiliated
with the University of Pittsburgh. The institute welcomes faculty from ex
ternal institutions in the Pittsburgh region.
