This session will discuss teaching practices that leverage the assets and strengths of international students in our classrooms. We will learn to proactively design and implement concrete teaching strategies that encourage students' sense of belonging.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe an asset-based approach to teaching international students
  • Identify resources that allow our students to navigate the academic system confidently
  • Make a specific plan to increase our students' sense of belonging
