We're surrounded by lists every day: playlists, grocery lists, menus, wish lists. Umberto Eco said that "the list is the origin of culture." It can certainly be the origin for a good poem.

We'll explore some great list poems and experiment with different approaches to writing one in this informal workshop. Our emphasis will be on play and discovery: no previous writing experience needed.

All materials plus free refreshments provided!

Workshop is free and open to all members of the University of Pittsburgh community: students, faculty, and staff. Pre-registration required.
