Pittsburgh Campus Faculty and Staff; visit Heinz Chapel for a mid-day break to reduce workday stress!
Your wellness matters!
If you want to better manage your stress this year, we have the sessions to help you, now being offered on select Thursdays!
Step away from your desk and into stress reduction. The Office of Human Resources, through Wellness for Life, will offer these sessions one Thursday per month at Heinz Chapel from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM. There’s no registration required and it’s absolutely free! A Health Coach will present a variety of topics to help you learn valuable skills you can use in your everyday life.
The Mini Series will take place on the following dates:
August 14 - Mindfulness
September 11 - Guided Imagery
October 9 - Chair Yoga
November 13 - Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR)
December 11 - Meditation
Mindfulness - Sometimes life can bring us down. It affects our mood and those around us. Mindfulness is a technique that can help you relieve stress and feel more positive, take control of your life and mood, change the way you respond the challenging situations and feel more confident. This SOTG will teach mindfulness and how you can practice it in your day to day life.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) - Many times, we tend to hold stress in our muscles. This is when we notice our shoulders are nearly touching our ears by the time we leave work. Progressive muscle relaxation allows you to work through the muscles tensing and relaxing as you take deep breaths. This SOTG will guide you through a modified version of this.
