This special meeting will celebrate the early radium industry in Pittsburgh, the Standard Chemical Company (SCC) which produced most of the radium in the early 20th century, the 1921 visit to this firm by Marie Curie, the Flannery brothers, James J. and Joseph, who started the company, and the dedication of a Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission historical marker commemorating these events. No registration needed.
