This Spotlight presentation will focus on Pitt Mobility: Parking, Construction, PRT. Staff Council welcomes Jonathan J. Pearson, Director of Mobility; Julie Bannister, Assistant Vice Chancellor, Auxiliary Services; and Amy Silbermann – Pittsburgh Regional Transit, Chief Development Officer.

Jonathan J. Pearson — Director of Mobility

Jonathan Pearson is the Director of Mobility for the University of Pittsburgh and has been in that role for 6 years.    Jonathan has been involved with parking, transportation, and mobility for over 20 years beginning as a valet, in downtown Pittsburgh.  He has managed parking and transportation across North America for corporate clients, municipalities, higher education, and special events.  His event resume consists of numerous PGA and LPGA tournaments, Formula 1, Moto Gran Prix, music festivals, and Presidential Inaugurations.  Jonathan has also supported FEMA evacuations during natural disasters including 2017 Hurricane Harvey.  Jonathan holds a B.A. in Business Management from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as the Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP) certification through the International Parking & Mobility Institute.

Julie Bannister – Assistant Vice Chancellor, Auxiliary Services

As the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Auxiliary Services, Julie Bannister oversees and provides strategic guidance to the Housing Assignments and Leasing, Panther Central, Mobility, and Dining Services units of Business, Hospitality, and Auxiliary Services. She also supervises the support units of Marketing and Communications and Business Systems, and oversees the Director of Housing and Dining Facilities. Julie’s duties include oversight of all on-campus housing assignments and University-owned off-campus leasing, the direction of Panther Central’s 24-7 customer care center, management of over twenty on-campus dining locations, oversight of all campus parking, shuttles, and sustainable transportation initiatives, direction of student Arrival, review of marketing materials, development, and implementation of departmental business systems, and supervision of staff. 

Amy Silbermann – Pittsburgh Regional Transit, Chief Development Officer

Amy Silbermann is Pittsburgh Regional Transit’s Chief Development Officer, overseeing the Planning & Service Development, Transit Amenities, Transit Scheduling, and Engineering functions within the Planning & Service Development Division. Amy began her work at PRT in 2013 as a data analyst in the Scheduling Department. Prior to joining PRT, she taught high school sciences in Washington, D.C. public schools for three years. Amy earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Environmental Studies from Denison University, a Master’s degree Teaching from American University, and a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Amy is a certified planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners.
