Join Dr. Margaret Larkins-Pettigrew (AHN) and Dr. Johanna M. Vidal-Phelan (UPMC) in kicking off the inaugural Health Sciences Social Justice Education Summit, which seeks to serve as a space to introduce, build and engage students, trainees, staff and faculty in inclusive community-campus partnership. This is a day long event to allow individuals to explore the best practices for health sciences activism and learn how a culture of health and empowerment can be created through collaborative engagements.
The Summit explores health activism, conjoining a culture of empowerment activism through collaborative engagements. The Summit provides space to share ways to disrupt the usual practice pathways and the status quo often reflected in campus-community partnerships. These themes will be explored through keynote speakers, featured national programs and within breakout session workshops.
The Health Sciences Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team, along with Summit sponsors: the Center on Race and Social Problems, the Community-Engaged Scholarship Forum, and the Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion invite you to participate and co-share in the teaching and learning.
See the Summit webpage for more information.
