The University of Pittsburgh Slovak Studies Program and the Pitt Student Slovak Club will sponsor the 29th Annual Slovak Heritage Festival in the Commons Room of the Cathedral of Learning from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Pitt’s Oakland campus.
The festival will feature song and dance performances by professional Slovak artists, local performing groups (the Pittsburgh Slovakians, Slavjane Folk Ensemble and PAS), a craft demonstration by the Warhol Museum, lectures on Andy Warhol’s art and the influence of his Slovak Rusyn Heritage on it, as well as several other educational lectures and displays, ethnic foods and pastries, and vendors with merchandise from Slovakia and neighboring European countries.
The Slovak Heritage Festival is free and open to the public.
