This is a past event.

Introducing the Pitt Ventures Academy: A New Program for Pitt Innovators

During this seminar, Entrepreneur in Residence, Tony Torres will unveil an innovative program aimed at bolstering your journey towards commercialization. Imagine having the tools and guidance to create your own company at your own pace, with clear milestones marking your way. The Pitt Ventures Startup Academy is here to turn this vision into a tangible reality.

Tony will provide an overview of how the Startup Academy delivers 360-degree support throughout every phase of the startup formation process, with the ultimate aim of launching a company within a 12–18-month timeframe. Additionally, Tony will highlight the program’s advantages which encompass real-time support in the following areas: incorporation, team building, market analysis, regulatory affairs, company finance, and fundraising.

The SHRS Innovation Seminar Series is an opportunity for our community to gather together to learn about commercialization as an impactful research translation strategy. The open discussions included during each seminar are a networking opportunity and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration on specific commercialization projects.

The series is co-sponsored by the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s Innovation Institute.

The sessions are open to all Pitt faculty, students, and/or staff.
