October 16, 2025 – January 30, 2026 

This year’s two-person installation features a newly commissioned work by José Santiago Pérez alongside a retrospective of the work of Charmette Young. Each artist challenges the boundaries of craft in their work and together they transform the historic Rotunda.  

Pérez, a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Studio Arts, explores the formal and conceptual possibilities of containers—such as baskets and nets—as objects of queer experimentation.  

Young, a self-taught artist born and raised in Pittsburgh, has been a member of VaultArt Studio since 2018. Over the past decade, she has developed a distinctive body of work, creating intricate bursts of color through embroidery floss on painted canvases. This installation highlights her practice over the past decade.
