About this Event
Universities and researchers have seen a steady increase in new federal requirements around research security. These new research security requirements are driven by a bipartisan belief that federally funded research results need to be more adequately protected from inappropriate transfer to other countries—especially those considered “Foreign Countries of Concern” (China, Russia, Iran, North Korea).
Driven by the CHIPS Act and other evolving federal initiatives, federal funding agencies have adjusted their expectations around faculty disclosures, foreign engagements, required training, foreign travel, cybersecurity protections, and export controls. For Pitt research faculty and staff, these new expectations have led to some confusion and uncertainty.
This webinar—offered by the Office of Research Security & Trade Compliance—will discuss these new research security expectations and describe the steps that Pitt has taken to address them.
