Join the World History Center for a discussion about the book All That She Carried: The Journey of Ashley's Sack, a Black Family Keepsake by Tiya Miles. In this book, Miles traces the life of a single object handed down through three generations of Black women to craft a testament to people who are left out of the archives. A limited number of copies of the book will be made available. Please email whc@pitt.edu for a copy of the book. Or read the book online through ULS HERE!
This event is part of the series Silence in the Narrative: The Politics of Absence in Accounts of the Global Past.
