A panel discussion on musical activism and influence within the Black Arts Movement. The talk will center on two legendary Black music collectives that emerged in the 1960s that have endured into the 21st century: The Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) in Chicago and the Pan African People’s Arkestra (PAPA) in Los Angeles.
The panel will be a historical meeting of key members of both organizations including:
