R is a free, open-source, software package and programming environment used primarily for processing, analyzing, and visualizing tabular data. It is also a general-purpose tool for many tasks throughout the research lifecycle. In this two-hour, hands-on workshop, we will orient ourselves to R and RStudio, install and attach useful community-developed packages, load and save tabular data, and work with the basic data structures found in R. No previous experience with R or statistics is expected. This is the first session of a four-week series. Participants will need to have installed R and RStudio Desktop.
