About this Event
In this workshop, we’ll discuss queer praxis in the classroom. We will explore strategies that facilitate teaching and learning outside of normative structures and honor the strengths and needs of our queer and trans students. Participants are asked to have access to a syllabus they’re interested in “queering.”
In this workshop, participants will:
Reflect on how certain policies, standards, and assessments reflect social, cultural, and institutional values
Discuss practical ways to apply concepts from queer theory in their classrooms
Practice "queering" aspects of a syllabus
