Co-founder and chair person of the NGO "Association for Well-being of Society" in the Republic of Georgia, Imerlishvili holds a master's degree in epidemiology and environmental medicine from the Tbilisi State Medical University. Her focus areas are sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
In her talk, Imerlishvili will introduce the context of Georgia from a public health perspective, including the country's historical and cultural context, which are critical for informing SRHR research and interventions.
Imerlishvili is spending one month with the Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences at Pitt as a U.S. State Department Professional Fellow, primarily working with BCHS's Jessie Burke and Sara Baumann (BCHS '19).
