President Donald Trump has issued Executive Orders and implemented executive actions at a pace far exceeding that of recent administrations effecting sweeping changes across key sectors of U.S. law and policy. This panel will explore the legal and public health implications of the recent executive orders and executive policies implemented by President Trump related to Freedom of Expression, Health and Immigration. A panel of interdisciplinary experts will discuss what those executive actions and memoranda mean, how they are being implemented, and what challenges they present from a civil rights and health equity perspective.

Panelists include Prof. William M. Carter, Judge J. Quint Salmon and Anne Salmon Chair in Law University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Dr. Miranda Yaver, PhD. Assistant Professor Department of Health Policy and Management in the University of Pittsburgh, and Prof. Shoba Sivaprasad Whadia, Samuel Weiss Faculty Scholar, Director, Center for Immigrants' Rights Clinic at Penn State Dickinson Law School. Dr. Tamara Dubowitz, Chair and Professor of Epidemiology University of Pittsburgh, will serve as Discussant and Prof. Sheila Vélez Martínez, Jack and Lovell Olender Professor of Asylum Refugee and Immigration Law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, will serve as the Moderator.
