About this Event
3959 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15260
A multi-day, in-person event featuring three days of engagement: a community dinner on May 28 to foster relationships and dialogue, a full-day symposium on May 29 focused on advancing postpartum and fourth-trimester care, and the EMBRACE Summit on May 30 dedicated to collaborative efforts that promote maternal and reproductive health equity.
Keynote Speaker: Latasha Reece, MS, PMH-C, CPD (CBI), co-founder, Postpartum Peace of Mind
LaTasha Reece is a traumatic stress researcher, lactation educator and postpartum doula with a background in molecular biology and physiology. After having her two daughters and experiencing racism/discrimination and a complete lack of postpartum care, LaTasha saw a need in the community and a gap in the data. With Rachel Bowen, LaTasha founded Postpartum Peace of Mind Inc. to provide evidence-based, equitable, community-focused postpartum care, resources and education for Women of Color at no cost to them or their families. LaTasha's goal is to remove the barriers that are keeping Women of Color from thriving (or even surviving) their postpartum journeys.
