The Tucci/Koch lecture is a yearly lecture where distinguished leaders in Pharmacy speak to the Pitt Pharmacy School and the University.
This year, the school is pleased to bring, Norman G. Hooten, PharmD.
Norman G. Hooten, PharmD is a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army and has 20 years of experience training special operations and law enforcement personnel. He was the Delta Force Team Leader who led an elite, top-secret unit in the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993. The heroic story of Dr. Norman Hooten and his team was the basis for the Academy Award Winning movie,
“Black Hawk Down.”
Once back from the battlefield in Somalia, he pursued his PharmD degree and completed a residency. Hooten now battles the opioid epidemic in his VA Medical Center practice where he serves veterans who have chronic pain and substance abuse.
