Medical Speech-Language Pathology: Where We Have Been and Where are We Going?

This session will discuss the history of Speech-Language Pathology, practice in medical settings, and issues with sanctioned educational requirements and their effectiveness in preparing professionals. Alignment of treatment methods with the mechanism of action of disease, not solely with impairment patterns, will be emphasized within the Rehabilitation Treatment Specification System (RTSS).
