Therapy Approaches for Children Who Stutter

This course provides information about therapy approaches for children who stutter, focusing on preschool and school-age children. Course content includes therapy approaches designed to reduce the frequency and severity of stuttering behaviors, both speech and other stuttering behaviors and how to implement these approaches with children. The intersection of neurodiversity principles with stuttering was also discussed. All content framed stuttering within the holistic framework of the World Health Organization's International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).

Learning Objectives:

-Describe two therapy approaches for children who stutter.

-Identify two or more methods that may decrease the frequency and severity of stuttering behaviors.

-Summarize components of holistic stuttering therapy within the ICF framework.
