In an effort to help meet the travel needs of our students from an ever-wider geographic region, we are pleased to have implemented the Mountain Cat Express, providing transportation for students to and from the Pittsburgh and Harrisburg/Philadelphia areas.

Upcoming trips:

• Thanksgiving Break: departing Friday, November 19; returning November 28
• Winter Recess: departing December 17; returning January 9, 2022 
• Spring Recess: Friday March 4; Returning March 13

Seating is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.  Students will be asked to provide a $10 cash/check deposit once approved for the trip in order for us to secure the reservation. The cash/check are returned to the student at boarding time at the bus.  If you need to discuss options on the deposit, please contact Heather Hall at hbh7@pitt.edu.   The deposit is necessary due to the demand for the trips.  Failure to cancel your attendance on the trip results in the university keeping the deposit. 

A waiting list is secured and will be managed as folks communicate their plans.  

Departures: Both buses depart from the front of Blackington Hall at 4:30 p.m.

• Pittsburgh passengers will be dropped off at the Waterfront (@ Dave & Buster's)
• Harrisburg passengers will be dropped off at the Harrisburg Mall (@ Macy's)
• Philadelphia passengers will be dropped off at the King of Prussia Mall (@Lord & Taylor)

Return Trips:

• From Pittsburgh: Bus departs at 4 p.m. from the Waterfront @ Dave & Buster's and travels directly to Pitt-Johnstown. If you miss the bus, it will be your responsibility to find transportation to Johnstown at your own expense. 
• From Philadelphia & Harrisburg: Bus departs Philadelphia (from the King of Prussia Mall @ Lord & Taylor) at 3 p.m. and travels to Harrisburg.  Bus departs Harrisburg (Harrisburg Mall at Macy’s) at 4:30 p.m. and travels directly to Pitt-Johnstown. If you miss the bus, it will be your responsibility to find transportation to Johnstown at your own expense

We will be contacting folks on Saturday, November 6 with deposit money due on Wednesday, November 10 at 5pm. 

If you have any questions, please contact Campus Activities and Engagement at 814.269.7065.  Please remember that you may not register any student other thatn your own. Parents/Families may not register their student as the release waiver is contained in the registration. Those students who do not follow this process will forfeit their seat and the seat of the other person(s).  Thanks for understanding!
