New, incoming, first-year students will move in between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 22.

Report to the Smith Hall Parking Lot where volunteers will guide you through the process of parking, checking in, and finding your residence hall. Check-in is important because you will receive your student ID, a residence hall t-shirt, a Welcome Week schedule, and other important information.

Volunteers also will be available at the residence halls to help you to move your belongings from your vehicle to your room!

Make the Move-In Day experience a positive one by doing these things:

  • Pack all the essential stuff. Be sure to refer to our Things to Bring list.

  • Communicate with your roommate(s) ahead of time. This may be helpful in deciding what to bring and when to arrive on move-in day.

  • Consider bringing a cart or hand-truck to help move items in. Although a few carts will be available on move-in day, they are often in high demand.

  • Prepare for the weather. It is not uncommon for move-in day to be very warm. Dress appropriately, and stay hydrated.
