About this Event
As part of its observation of Black History Month, Pitt-Greensburg presents Moe Spencer, a marijuana attorney who will discuss the history of marijuana growth and its use in the United States, the political reasons for why it became illegal, and the origins of its classification as a Schedule I Narcotic.
Nixon’s mandate for its Schedule 1 classification has had far-reaching consequences on areas from the economy to race relations and continues to color our politics today.
Moe equips his audiences with the historical and legal facts to make up their own mind on this controversial topic.
This event is sponsored by the Black Student Union, the President's Committee on Diversity and Inclusion, and the Academic Village.
