The University of Pittsburgh’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute, the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh, the New Pittsburgh Courier, and UPMC’s Center for Engagement and Inclusion  work together to deliver quality health education on critical public health topics each month through the Community Health Series Partnership.

Join us on July 11th as we hear from Dr. César G. Escobar-Viera about reducing mental health disparities among sexual and gender minority youth and young adults. He will highlight some of his work in this area, which is described below. Available resources, engagement opportunities, and action steps for folks to take charge of their health will also be a highlight during the session. César G. Escobar-Viera, PhD, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry with a secondary appointment in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences. Dr. Escobar-Viera is the Director of the Program for Internet Delivered Interventions on LGBTQA+ Mental Health (PRIDE iM) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is passionate about determining the influence of social media interactions on the mental health of Sexual and Gender Minority people. Dr. Escobar-Viera will share the importance of this great work
