About this Event
Pitt Act Competency Five: Campus Resources
Abstract: More students are entering college with at least one mental health concern. Students usually interact with their professors several times per week, and therefore may feel more comfortable reaching out to them with non-academic concerns. While it is important to support the holistic growth of students, establishing boundaries with students is essential to prevent faculty burnout. This workshop will review various types of boundaries and how stress may arise when boundaries are not clarified. Participants will be invited to explore their current boundaries and identify areas for needed adjustment. Strategies for creating boundaries will be shared.
