This special event marks the launch of Health, Parenting, and Community Perspectives on Black Fatherhood: Defying Stereotypes and Amplifying Strengths, a groundbreaking book published in September 2024, co-authored and co-edited by Dr. Tasha Alston of Pitt's Division of General Internal Medicine, Dr. Brianna Lemmons of Baylor University, and Dr. Latrice Rollins of Morehouse School of Medicine. This book is an essential resource for scholars in social work, psychology, sociology, child development, allied health, and similar disciplines and professions.
Through a powerful panel discussion, experts and community leaders will explore how Black fathers defy stereotypes, strengthen families, and foster thriving communities.
