The talk will begin with a brief discussion of streptococcal pharyngitis and acute rheumatic fever with concentration on the major manifestation of chorea. We will review the original description of PANDAS and the characteristics of a typical case. We will highlight the controversial issues that have resulted in skepticism concerning this entity and review the newer concept of PANS and conclude with an approach to diagnosis and management.
