Did anybody ever really gather around a water cooler? Maybe not. But if you work remotely, even partly remotely, you might miss the socialization, information, and commiseration that come with talking to other people in the same workplace.

The Mental Wellness Task Force has created a forum called Pitt’s Online Water Cooler to remedy this situation. Here’s what it looks like: Every fifteen days, beginning on Tuesday February 4 (Pitt calendar note), we will gather on Teams during a lunch hour just to talk. Since beginning this group last fall, we have talked about crafts, travels, restaurants, and other non-work topics. This is not meant to be a structured program, just an opportunity to interact with similarly situated Pitt employees and feel less isolated. Note that by gathering on an irregular schedule, we are aiming to make this available for lots of people to at least come some of the time. Do you want to give it a try? If so, please provide your name and email address on this form so that we can provide you with the log-in instructions.
