OIS Workshop: Understanding CPT/OPT Authorizations

A 300 hour internship is a graduation requirement for all GSPIA students pursuing a MPA, MPIA, or MID degree.  International students at GSPIA should receive authorization from the Office of International Services (OIS) if their internships will be located within the United States. This authorization is called Curricular Practical Training (CPT). It is very important for students to have a working knowledge of this authorization, and of the visa stipulations for being able to complete an internship.

OIS will offer a presentation about the necessary steps that you will take to receive authorization for your internship. They will also cover post-graduation visa options and the steps you'll need to take to remain in the US for your OPT period.

**We strongly encourage ALL international students to attend this workshop!

If you cannot attend this event, please visit https://www.ois.pitt.edu/office-international-servicesto learn more about these authorizations and to schedule an appointment. You can also email the GSPIA OIS advisor, Louis Deemer, directly at louisdeemer@pitt.edu
