This program will provide first-year lawyers with practical tips that they can use to be able to "hit the ground running" on their first day of practice. Taught from a practitioner's perspective, the program will focus on the issues of billable hours (including firm expectations and how to enter/bill time), the concept of teamwork and how it applies in a legal environment and, finally, effective communications both internally (with colleagues) and with clients. Pitt Law Professor Larry Lebowitz (JD '87) will serve as moderator for the program. Pitt Law alumni Katie Jacobs (JD '09) and Maria Salvatori (JD '15) along with recent law school graduates and Denton attorneys Maria Salvatori and Eric Elliott will provide unique perspectives on the above topics and those associated with helping new lawyers achieve success in their first job.
