Join the Pitt School of Nursing and the Eta chapter of Sigma for the first of our two-part Nursing Speaker Series with alumna Helene M. Burns, DNP, RN, NEA-BC. Helene will be discussing the topic of a healthy work environment for nurses. Healthy work environments are essential for patient/family safety and a critical component for nurse retention and recruitment. With more than 35 years of experience in a hospital setting, Helene has been responsible for patient care services and nursing operations in many different roles. We will hear her perspective as well as the perspective of Salina Smialek, a BSN ’16 grad and her experience in a healthy work environment. We will also hear from a Pitt Nursing student on their expectations as they approach graduation and the work force.
Reception with refreshments to follow the speaker and panel discussion.
The Nursing Speaker Series is co-sponsored by Sigma and a grant from the Pitt Alumni Association.
Wednesday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
