The University Center for Teaching and Learning hosts an orientation for new teaching assistants and fellows in the beginning of the fall and spring terms. The New Teaching Assistant Orientation (NTAO) consists of workshops led by Teaching Center staff and experienced teaching assistants. The spring 2020 orientation is designed for new teaching assistants and teaching fellows who are teaching for the first time at the University of Pittsburgh. The program helps prepare graduate student teachers for their new roles at the University of Pittsburgh, by providing them with practical skills and familiarizing them with Univeristy policies and resources. New teaching assistants or teaching fellows who were not able to attend the fall 2019 NTAO may also attend.
Registration is mandatory which ensures distribution of pre-workshop materials and accurate attendance records.
